Brightly and O2C: A Strong Symbiosis


When it comes to automation and transactional support, our Opportunity-to-Cash (O2C) have their customers more than covered. The strong partnership built with customer Brightly Software, is a testament to that.

At GBS, O2C specializes in the areas of sales support, booking, billing, credit risk management, cash collection as well as aftersales services. The variety of automation tools, workflow tools and dashboard solutions along with bench strength within services out of Global Delivery Centers allow customers to gain efficiency and to focus on their core processes.

All these benefits were key in having Brightly Software on board as a customer and building an ongoing relationship with them since the beginning of the year.

Working Together

In the initial projects with Brightly, our Record-to-Report (R2R) team took part alongside O2C. The R2R team was involved in supporting the areas of master data, while the O2C team was focused on contract renewals and collection oversight. The collaboration between R2R and O2C played a key role in strengthening our support for the customer’s needs.

The Situation

As much as we take pride in the quality of our efficient cash collectors, we also respect our customers' decision to utilize their own collections team while seeking guidance from O2C. Brightly did just that - utilized their own collection team with the O2C team providing cash collection oversight. Fast forward to over six months, O2C has been providing Brightly with collection services, helping them establish reporting, collection strategies and offering hands on support to reduce accounts receivables.

Making it Happen

Jointly, contract renewals from our Opportunity-to-Invoice service came into frame and we began working with one of the global delivery centers on the topic. A team of 10 professionals took on the challenge within two weeks to get trained and start work on these renewals. Within only a few weeks we managed to renew over 3,000 service contracts in Brightly’s billing system. After having successfully finished the project, our team did not stop there. We helped them update their price book, provided a permanent account receivables phone support for their customers along with the customer change request services. Throughout this experience, we maintained ongoing support with the contract renewals.

Our latest activity is an in-depth process analysis of Brightly’s Order-to-Cash process for the US and Canada. These are multiweek projects with workshops facilitated by GBS, detailed process mapping of “as-is situation” and consultancy for an optimized “to-be-process” in collaboration with our customer.

All the different projects and activities carried out have led to a deeper understanding from O2C for Brightly’s processes, tools and overall business. More notably, a level of trust was built as Brightly has experienced GBS as not only a service provider but a trusted partner. O2C is excited to continue this partnership.
